The Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations is committed to addressing this head on, starting by creating awareness of advertising and public relations careers at the high school level.
The Tombras School has a multi-pronged approach to enhance the experience for underrepresented students. To supplement educational paths, the Tombras School will provide technology, study abroad, professional, and other signature opportunities.
Showcase collaborative learning spaces, increased student enrollment and faculty, innovative curricula, and professional engagement will position the Tombras School as the academic leader in the fields of advertising and public relations.
Honoring Charles Tombras, Sr., this professorship will be held by a faculty member who actively recruits historically underrepresented students, generates reports and materials that promote DEI in higher education and the industries, and champions efforts of the Tombras School.
The professor will engage high school students to create awareness, interest, and excitement for these professions. Students will be supported in pursuing the UT Promise. The map below represents the 38 flagship high schools.
Annual lunch-and-learns will be hosted at target flagship high schools to thank teachers while educating them on opportunities for underrepresented students.
